About the Smart Energy Council
The peak body for solar, storage and smart energy
The Smart Energy Council is a non-profit, membership based organisation. Established in 1954 the Smart Energy Council was previously known as the Australian Solar Council and Energy Storage Council.
For over 60 years we have been advancing the cause of solar energy by representing companies in solar hot water, large-scale solar thermal concentrating plants, solar PV (at all scales), solar passive design and energy-efficient materials.
We also represent solar customers and consumers, and provide expert advice to governments and the public.
Today, Australians want smarter energy and as the Smart Energy Council we are committed to advancing the cause for clean, efficient, cheap and smart energy solutions for all Australians.
