The Australian Battery Guide

This guide, prepared by the Australian Smart Energy Council (formerly the Energy Storage Council), is an easy to understand framework designed to provide guidance to the energy storage industry and consumers in the interim while formal Australian Standards and being developed for the sector.

The Australian Battery Guide specifies general requirements for design and installation of all Energy Storage Systems (ESS), including those connected, and not connected, to a power distribution system and those that are not connected to a power distribution system. This Guide applies to installations of all types of batteries with a total capacity of 240Wh or greater (example; 24V with capacity of 10Ah).
